Low Voltage Compact Boost Converter

This cute little boost converter utilizes Pulse Frequency Modulation based on the 2108A regulator to provide a starting voltage as low as 0.7v, and a consistent regulated output of 5 or 3.3 volts DC. It's compact size (11x11mm board layout, with a total component thickness of 7.7mm) permits easy integration into any size of project!
 
The wide input range of these allows them to be used with a plethora of different power sources:
 
Solar arrays with as few as two cells
Single cell batteries of almost any chemistry
Alkaline batteries that are already too exhausted to work in most consumer devices
